Cautions for installation and disassembly of hydraulic cylinder bar

Before disassemble of a hydraulic cylinder bar, pressure of hydraulic circuit should be first relieved. Otherwise, the hydraulic oil with high-pressure in the circuit will spout out as the connector of oil pipe with the cylinder is unscrewed. When operating, unscrew first the hand wheel or adjusting bolt at the oveflow valve to unload the pressure, and then shut down power supply to stop the hydraulic device. Cares should be taken to avoid any damages to the screw thread at the top of the piston rod and that of hydraulic oil port, the interior wall and so on. To prevent bending or deformation of a long and thin piston rod, a wooden underlay needs to be placed for even support.

A hydraulic cylinder barrel is literally a connection structure for work by piston, mostly employed in execution unit of oil hydraulic and pneumatic structure, a movement part with frequent movement and high request of technology. Consisting of oil cylinder barrel, piston rod, piston and cover, it’s quality determines directly its lifespan and reliability. Especially the piston rod, it must be processed with high technical specifications, like a surface roughness Ra0.4-0.8μm, strict coaxiality and abrasion resistance. Another part is the cylinder rod, featuring basically thin and long, is also a challenging matter when processing. 

The formation of drag mark. Sometimes, you may find a row of drag marks appears on a variation hydraulic cylinder bar from a disassembled crane. The formation of such drag mark results mainly from the fall off piece by piece of a brittle dustproof ring. What’s worse, away from failure of dust proofing due to falloff, hard grinding takes place directly between piston rod and the dust piling up around the ring and wound forms on the rod. As a result, the wound scratches further the rubber sealing components and finally hydraulic oil leaks.
