How to properly use a welding positioner

- Jul 08, 2025-

This involves pre-operation preparation, standardized operation, and post-operation maintenance.

Following the correct procedures not only ensures safety but also significantly improves welding quality and equipment life.

1. **Read the Instructions**: Before operating any new equipment, be sure to carefully read the manufacturer's operating manual and safety specifications. Different models of Wuxi Hengtong positioners may have specific functions and requirements.

2. **Check Equipment Condition**:

* **Mechanical**: Check that the connecting bolts of the Rotary Welding Positioner Turn Table components are tight, that the transmission mechanism (such as gears) is free of foreign objects or damage, and that lubrication is adequate.
* **Electrical**: Check that the power cord and control cable are not damaged and that grounding is reliable. Check that all buttons on the remote control are functioning properly.

3. **Workpiece Clamping and Balancing**:

* **Selecting Appropriate Tooling**: Select the appropriate chuck, fixture, or work platform based on the shape and size of the Tube Turning Positioner workpiece, and ensure that it is clean and free of foreign objects. * **Proper Clamping**: Securely mount the workpiece on the positioner table, ensuring sufficient clamping force to prevent loosening and ejection during welding. This is the most important safety step.
* **Adjusting the Center of Gravity**: Adjust the center of gravity of the heavy-duty welding positioner workpiece as close to the positioner's rotation centerline as possible. For eccentric workpieces, counterweights must be used to reduce motor load and vibration during operation.

4. **Cleaning the Worksite**:

Ensure the work area is clean and free of oil, dirt, and debris, especially ensuring that the positioner's rotation and tilting ranges are clear of people and obstacles.
