Main features and different classifications of high precision cold drawn honed tube

High precision cold drawn honed tubes are one type of steel pipes, which are classified according to different types of production processes, and are mainly distinguished from hot-rolled (expanded) pipes. It is formed by multi-pass cold drawing in the process of expanding the diameter of the capillary tube or the raw material tube, and is usually carried out on a single-chain or double-chain cold drawing machine of 0.5 to 100T.

High precision cold drawn honed tube is divided into general steel pipe, low and medium pressure boiler steel pipe, high pressure boiler steel pipe, alloy steel pipe, stainless steel pipe, petroleum cracking pipe, mechanical processing pipe, thick wall pipe, small diameter and inner die cold drawn pipe, and other steel pipes. Also included are carbon thin-walled steel pipes, alloy thin-walled steel pipes, stainless thin-walled steel pipes, and special-shaped steel pipes.


Features of the high precision cold drawn honed tubes

1. High production efficiency: It takes 154 hours to produce a cylinder with an inner diameter of 420 mm and a length of 12 meters by a conventional method, and it takes only 4 minutes to produce by cold drawing.

2. High pass rate: Because the rolling head of the boring head also plays a guiding role, during the cutting process, the blank tube is deflected due to its own weight, causing the rolling head and the boring tool to go off, resulting in waste. The pass rate can only reach about 60%, and the production rate can reach 95% by cold drawing method.
