Reasons and solutions for pitting of honing tube

- Jul 28, 2023-

The pitting of the honing tube is manifested as an uneven rough surface on the surface of the product, also known as pitted surface. Mostly in continuous sheets, but also locally or periodically distributed. The causes of pitting are:
1. The finished hole or the front hole of the finished product is worn out, or the broken iron oxide scale is stuck;
2. The broken iron oxide scale is pressed into the surface of the rolled piece and then falls off;
3. The roll is rusted;
4. During the heating process of the blank, the surface is severely oxidized.
The ways to remove the pitting of the quilted grinding pipe are:
1. When changing the roll, check the roll first, do not use the severely corroded roll, and replace the worn roll or pass in time; 2. Improve the material of the roll, keep the rolling
groove well cooled, and use Process lubricant (see plastic processing process lubrication) to improve the wear resistance of the reinforced rolling groove;
3. Control the heating operation of the billet to maintain positive pressure in the furnace and reduce oxidative gas. For some alloy steels that are easy to oxidize and the iron scale is not easy to fall off, the iron scale should be covered on the surface of the billet to protect and heat;
4. Use high-pressure water, compressed air or iron brush to remove the surface oxide scale before the rough rolling mill.
